Your skills wallet is the last section of your profile, and it is key to displaying what you know and what you are capable of. This space reflects not only the skills you have acquired, but also the practical applications of those skills in your current occupation if you choose to provide that information. Skills are automatically populated based on the badges you've earned or may be inferred if you provide occupation data.
You can add additional skills by occupation by clicking the “+ Add Skills by Occupation" and starting to type in the Occupation Name and selecting the Occupation Title from the dropdown list.
(This is nearly identical to what you might have done when editing the header area of your profile.)
After selecting the Occupation, you will be presented with a list of skills. You can Deselect any skill by clicking the “X” next to the skill from the list before clicking “Save.”
You will be given the opportunity to “+ Add more Skills” or you can “Skip and Continue.”
If you choose to add more skills, you will click “+ Add another occupation” and you will be presented with the opportunity to start typing another occupation title and select it from the dropdown menu. You can continue to add occupations as needed.
When clicking “Skip and Continue,” you will be brought back to your profile to view your Skills Wallet.
Just like your badge wallet, you have control over the presentation of your skills. You can rearrange them to prioritize the most relevant ones or remove those that don't align with your current focus or aren’t accurate. This allows you to keep your profile sharp and reflective of your true expertise.
After clicking Reorder/Edit you will be able to reorder and hide skills in your Skills Wallet.
After hiding Skills, you will see the Hidden Skills Tab.
Additionally, the skills wallet offers insights into the demand for your skills, as well as whether they are "future proof." Future proof skills are those that are expected to remain relevant, even as technology evolves, helping you maintain a competitive edge in a rapidly changing job market.
