We want you to feel secure when using Credly. Here are a set of FAQs about our policies and procedures.
Why do I have to create an account?
Your issuer has engaged us to help them manage verified credentials (so much more secure than self-reported credentials), so we need to verify that you are you! We do that through the account creation process. You are under no obligation to create an account but in order to accept your credential an account is required.
What do you do with the data?
We receive data that includes your name, email, and when you met the requirements for the badge. That is kept as long as you accept the badge. If you do not accept the badge and the issuer leaves Credly, your data is purged. If you want your account deleted and data irreversibly deleted, please let us know through this support site. Submit a ticket. We only act upon your direction or informed consent.
Do you ever sell my personally identifiable data?
No, we do not.
How else can I control my privacy?
Once you have an account, you can readily decide if you want your profile to be public and if you want individual badges to be visible. That’s all up to you! Your preferences are controlled under account settings. You can read more about how to control privacy here.
Do you adhere to the GDPR ?
Yes, we take data privacy very seriously and follow all GDPR regulations and other applicable data privacy laws! We also maintain several ISO certifications, further evidence that we take this seriously! You’ll find the details on this page.
