We’re excited to announce that publishing to blockchain is now a feature for select enterprises. The capability must be turned on by the issuer.
If your issuer has added blockchain as an option to your digital badge, you’ll find the option under the Share button when you look at your badge.
Once you click on Share, you’ll be brought to a screen that will allow for many options, including Publish. From there you can Publish to blockchain.
Verification of successful publication will look like this:
Publishing to the blockchain is permanent. If you decide after publishing that you do not want others to see that badge (or the blockchain verification), you can set that badge to be private. Still, your public keys are stored in your Account Settings (for both public and private badges).
Also, in case you’re wondering, if a viewer wants to verify your credential, they would see a screen like the screen below. That said, depending on traffic, it may take upwards of 20 minutes for the record to be written to the blockchain. Therefore, if you want to test the verification process, we advise that you wait.
